Week 5

blue ocean meeting the blue sky
I googled, "Teacher Blog Community." There was a heading called Teachers Lingo. It is based on an educational community to connect teachers from every level. Teachers write blogs on titles such as Why? Why Not I? and Students Thoughts on upcoming Field Trips. Another title which caught my attention was titled Light at the End of the Tunnel. It was in reference to a teacher expressing her feelings. She was excited about the school week being a short week.
She was also excited about having an assistant teacher. There were other topics about Student Empowerment and Halloween Theme Unit. In the Halloween theme Unit the teacher was planning to use the holiday of Halloween as a creative tool for Learning. The website mention creative ideas with the alphabets, spelling, and writing just to name a few.

I suggest you look at a website where teachers can keep up with their lesson plans online. You can create notes for homework assignments as well as many other school related matters. Parents and students can also view notes and assignments. The teacher uses this sit to enhance their student teacher contact. this particular site can also keep parents updated on what their kids are doing or not doing in class.

Week 4

The Fischbowl is a creative web site for teachers. The movie that was shown on this site shock me. The movie was about science. There were college students in lab coats rapping about scienific facts. The beat to the music in the song sounded familiar. It sounded like a song that was popular in the late 80's or early 90's. At that time I was a freshman in high school. I thought it was very interesting. It was somethung fun and exciting for our young people. It can be a great way to make learning fun instead of dull or boring. The beats just need to be more update. Something our youth can relate too.

The fact that the young people in the movie were the ones actually performing was also a great ideal. I believe the more the teachers involve the students, it has better chance of sticking with them. The enthusiasm and excitement the students had in the movie was evident. The students had energy and they seem to really be into the entire aspect of the video. Another thing is that the movie was more like a video rather then a movie. My over all reaction to this video is wow what a great ideal.
